Internet Accuracy

October 1, 2008

CQResearcher recently published a new issue by Marcia Clemmitt entitled “Internet Accuracy: Is information on the Web reliable? ” (Auburn campus access only, use the CQResearcher link to get to it off campus). Besides finding out that Stephen Colbert has been banned from editing Wikipedia, the content includes short features like “How to Evaluate Blogs and Online Information Sources”, “How to Improve Your Online Searches” and “Internet Users Evaluate Sources on Many Levels”.

And speaking of Wikipedia… check out the Professor Wikipedia video on CollegeHumor.com. It is funny with some off-color humor (be warned) but it does, in its own way, give you context when evaluating materials on the web.
